American Television Icon Award 2015 - Official Robert Vaughn Fan Site
Ephrata, PA, October 24, 2015 --

Today, it was announced that screen legend Robert Vaughn (Napoleon Solo, TV's 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.') is the recipient of the second annual American Television Icon Award.

"It's my great pleasure to present this year's American Television Icon Award to Robert Vaughn.", says ATIA founder Kevin Carvell. "Like Alan Young last year, Mr. Vaughn is another personal favorite. An amazing actor. On-screen, he's just always the coolest cat in the room. Every woman wants him... and every man wants to be him. Off-screen, he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet."

In a statement, Vaughn says, "Thank you so very much for the lovely Icon statue. It is an honor and I shall treasure it."

Vaughn's TV roles include suave spy Napoleon Solo in the 1960s series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."; wealthy detective Harry Rule in the 1970s series "The Protectors"; and formidable General Hunt Stockwell in the 5th season of the 1980s series "The A-Team". In film, he portrayed one of the title characters in "The Magnificent Seven", Major Paul Krueger in "The Bridge at Remagen", the voice of Proteus IV, the computer villain of "Demon Seed", Walter Chalmers in "Bullitt", Ross Webster in "Superman III", and war veteran Chester A. Gwynn in "The Young Philadelphians" which earned him a 1960 Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

In recent years, as grifter and card shark Albert Stroller, Vaughn appeared in the hit British television drama series "Hustle".

About The American Television Icon Award The American Television Icon Award annually looks in front of and behind the camera to honor one legend who has made such an impact in television and pop culture that they can only be called... an icon.
