I can hardly express my deepest condolences to Mr. Vaughn's immediate family on his passing.... I was a die hard UNCLE fan since the first episode, when I was like 9 years old in 1964. My question is, "where was he buried ?", there has been no news reports on any "wake" or funeral arrangements in the news , and who attended ?..... any info from members is appreciated ....

I live in central Pennsylvania and see commercials on TV for Marcus and Mack, lawyers in Johnstown., PA. After viewing this site I wondered if the spokes person is Robert Vaughn. Here's a link to some You Tube videos.

With the wide reach of television, fans who identify with actors think they know the person. At 64 now I know, this is never the case. However for a 12 year old Canadian boy my world changed when I first met Napoleon Solo.

Mom was mystified. No longer a problem getting me into a suit and tie, with my hair combed. Of course the suit hid my Walther P.38 cap pistol and holster. Dad never missed his drafting pencil that looked like a fountain pen. Pulling it apart in the middle, attaching the top to the bottom with a twist, and Channel D was "open". A small circle of five pencil lead recepticles on top looked very much like mini radio attennas to a 12 year old and his fellow "agents'.

U.N.C.L.E. TV stories brought to life for me by Dr. Vaughn birthed 23 Ace paperback books by various authors. These "Affairs" provided me many a school book report. Ultimately they led me into more challenging versions of popular literature. Still edging toward mystery and action, adventure stories, I now include the classics while sometimes re-reading one of my 21 Man From U.N.C.L.E. books. Even though I know most of them by heart.

In a young mind The Man From U.N.C.L.E. inspired me to think that people evolving from different ideologies could work together for a better world. I became a radio and television reporter working to bring facts to my listeners. in markets where local news was king. My development of sources led my news director at my first radio station to nickname me, "digger".

This website provides me a greater respect for the whole person Dr. Vaughn became. My condolences to his family from one of his fans whose life he touched. I would like them to know, their family is legion today.

I remember watching The Man From U.N.C.L.E. when I was a teenager and loved the characters in the series. I thought Robert's performance in The Magnificent Seven was very good. Your fans will sorely miss you Robert.
